A pivotal meeting with a Career Counselor was a turning point in my career journey. Reentering the workforce, I was concerned about the gap in my resume. Her advice, 'To own it,' helped me embrace my gap, successes, and challenges and inspired me to shape my career philosophy.
My career evolved as I transitioned into a Career Counselor/Assistant Director role at a university. In this role, I worked with hundreds of students and alums annually, dedicating countless hours to guiding them in launching and advancing their careers. I also had the opportunity to coach a population of career changers from established careers in various industries, including law and business. I enjoyed the challenge of linking their previous experiences and skills to their current roles and future industries. As a Career Services professional, I developed resumes, conducted mock interviews, perfected 30-second pitches, and enhanced LinkedIn Pages, all with an unwavering commitment to their success. This dedication is a testament to my commitment to your career advancement.
In addition to my work experience, I am a Board-Certified Coach, as certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education, which includes 30 hours of education in coaching. I also completed my master's degree in Higher Education at New York University, with coursework in counseling, adult development, and theories of identity development. I completed my undergraduate degree in Merchandising from Mt. Ida College with a senior thesis on Personal Branding Applications for Women.
After a rewarding career in higher education, I am excited to own the next chapter of my career and have launched Own It Career Coaching.
